UAE Government introduces five-year tourist visas

The UAE Cabinet, headed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, approved the provisions of the Law on the entry and residence of foreigners, aimed at strengthening the country's position as an “ideal place to live, work and invest.”

The new system of entry and residence aims to attract and retain recognized talents and skilled workers from all over world, increase competitiveness and labor market flexibility, and strengthen the sense of stability for UAE residents and their families, according to the Wam news agency.

Now, various types of visas are available to travelers to the UAE, depending on the purpose of the trip. The requirement for confirmation from the host or sponsor has disappeared, the conditions for entering the country have been simplified. In addition, all entry visas — both single and multiple — can be renewed for a similar period and are valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

In addition to regular tourist visas, a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa has appeared. This type of visa does not require a guarantor sponsor and allows a person to stay continuously in the country for up to 90 days. The visa can be extended under one condition: the period of stay in the UAE should not exceed 180 days within one year.

To obtain a five-year visa, you must confirm the availability of funds in a bank account of at least $ 4,000 in during the last six months prior to the submission of the application. The new rules have also relaxed entry permits for relatives and friends of a citizen or resident of the UAE. A sponsor is also not required in this case.
