By the end of 2022, Japan plans to lift the ban on issuing visas to foreign tourists, which was introduced two years ago due to the pandemic. This is reported by TASS, with reference to the Kyodo agency.
The message notes that this issue is currently under development. At the same time, it is emphasized that the first limited groups of foreign tourists may be allowed into the country as early as May.
On December 28, 2020, Japan introduced a de facto ban on issuing new visas to citizens of all states and regions of the world in connection with the spread of coronavirus strains. Currently, only Japanese people, foreigners permanently residing in the country with long-term visas, and diplomats can enter Japan.
